FAITH DAVID STORY

Faith David, aged 32, from Kawale in Lilongwe District, has been released from Kachere Prison after serving one year for infanticide—a tragic incident in which she accidentally suffocated her six-month-old baby while sleeping. Her case was marked by deep sorrow and complexity, but justice has finally prevailed.

Missional Law, in collaboration with its dedicated partners at the Women Lawyers Association, worked tirelessly to secure Faith’s release. The Women Lawyers Association filed the bail application, and through their joint efforts, Faith was granted her freedom. For Faith, who had lost all hope during her time in prison, the day of her release felt nothing short of miraculous. Overwhelmed with gratitude, she gave thanks to God for the second chance she never thought possible.

To support her reintegration, Missional Law provided new clothing, financial assistance for food and transport, and ensured she returned home with dignity. Today, Faith is reunited with her family and beginning a new chapter of healing and restoration.
